Once again, I really enjoyed reading about Dr. Nathan's experiences as a professor becoming a college freshman. Something that I thought was very interesting was that she chose to study student dining in addition to her other studies because it is an important part of a students day and I was able to relate to it because it connects closely with what we are doing in class in seeing how students spend their time in certain areas and I chose to do one of the areas on campus that students go to eat. I also agree with her when she said that students tend to not want to join certain organizations or wait before joining because they do not want their life to be dictated by a schedule or have obligations that they always have to follow. While reading The Working Life of A Waitress I was able to see how difficult it was to be a waitress and was able to appreciate the work they do more with having to serve people, take and remember orders and have to be able to affect the mood of the customer they are serving no matter how difficult they are.
